Naomi: A Resurrection Story

We are starting a new series this fall, called "Stories of Faith: Ordinary People in the Hands of an Extraordinary God." Starting with the book of Ruth, we will be looking at the faith of some people in the Bible and learning from them, as well as about God himself and his faithfulness to us. This week's message is "Naomi: A Resurrection Story," from Ruth 1 and Ruth 4:14-17. The story shows us that circumstances can make life feel like death. We look bitterly around us and wonder where God is, and if there is any hope.

At times like this, faith might mean simply turning our heads in the right direction, even if our hearts are slow to follow. But God is still faithful. He meets us where we are at, and uses other people and circumstances to fulfill his purposes through us. Whether you are the person who needs to turn your face toward God in hope, or the person God will use to give hope to someone else, he is with you.
